Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship is the leading centre for entrepreneurship in Europe. Fueled by our belief that entrepreneurship is the primary driver for innovation, we strive to embed entrepreneurship in the DNA of people by applying the knowledge and network of Erasmus University Rotterdam, a university founded by entrepreneurs more than 100 years ago.
With our team consisting of highly-motivated staff, four full professors and 35+ academic trainers and researchers on entrepreneurship, – varying from strategic leadership, ambidexterity, entrepreneurial finance, (open) innovation management, entrepreneurship economics and corporate venturing – we offer our clients insight into their corporate entrepreneurship capabilities through scans and monitoring the effectiveness of innovation programmes via our Leading Innovation Excellence programme. Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship develops and executes entrepreneurship courses on Bachelor, Master and MBA level for multiple universities throughout the Netherlands and thereby awakens entrepreneurial talent at 10.000 students every year.
These training and development programmes often take place at our learning environment, situated in the Rotterdam Science Tower at the heart of the Rotterdam Makers District. Our own entrepreneurship campus covers more than 10,000 m2, is the home base for our community of 100+ innovative companies, and attracts over 30.000 visitors every year for countless events. Through our community we have a clear picture of the start and growth factors of companies; we monitor and research fast growing companies, scale-ups, and present the results in the annual Scale-up Dashboard. Every year 100+ entrepreneurs start their company in our Erasmus Startup Programmes resulting in an alumni base of 500+ entrepreneurs. At our current 7 floors (and counting) we host initiatives as the PortXL accelerator (Port of Rotterdam), Life Sciences & Health hub (ErasmusMC), and Startup Floor (Get in the Ring), thereby facilitating cross-over learning within these sectors.
Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship is initiated by Rotterdam School of Management and Erasmus School of Economics and 100% part of the Erasmus University Rotterdam.
