ECE Campus: the place to connect, share and work on new insights

6 June 2018

Last week we received more than 600 guests at the ECE Campus! Over 350 guests visited the Life, Sciences & Health Hub.

On May 29th, the guests of ‘Project management in healthcare‘ discussed ways to improve the quality of project management in healthcare. Chairman of the day Kjell van der Giessen, lecturer at Hogeschool Utrecht, went into the ludication of project management. Interesting speakers as Prof. dr. Victor Lamme of University of Amsterdam contribute guidelines and insights from practice. They give answers on how care organization can deal with the continuous pressure on re-organizing and innovating and how project management can integrate in a organization as a full discipline.

On the 30th of May the Annual Scientific Meeting of the Netherlands Centre for One Health (NCOH) took place with as theme ‘Global Solutions to One Health Challenges’. We were honoured to receive over 180 young researchers (PhD students, postdocs). The lectures were given by keynote speakers as Marc Lecuit from the Institut Pasteur. He told something about how the Zika virus induces congenital microcephaly. There were also parallel thematic sessions where the various NCOH perspectives were highlighted. This was followed by a rapid poster and pitch session by post docs and PhD’s: YOUNG NCOH. The day finished with a wrap up by dr. Rik de Swart of Erasmus MC about Global eradication of measles.

At the 31st of May entrepreneurs got a unique opportunity to network, interact and share their experiences on doing business in Africa organized by the Africa Business Club (NABC). High-level speakers as Friso Visser (Regional Director Africa at Damen Shipyards), Bob Horsman (Royal IHC), Daan Vreeburg (Community & Insights Manager NABC) and Marjolein van der Klaauw (Photojournalist and researcher) shared their insights and experiences.

We are very proud to have received so many entrepreneurial minds last week and are looking forward to receive more and more innovative and entrepreneurial people at the ECE Campus.
