ECE Startup INVI featured on NOS Radio 1

The INVI Bracelet

Since sexual violence is a worldwide problem that is often ignored, INVI addresses the issue by creating a nonviolent self-defense solution. “When you pull the bracelet, a very bad smell that can be observed from a great distance is released.”, said Roel van der Kamp, EUR alumnus and founder of startup INVI, on the NOS Radio 1 Journaal this Tuesday, the 9th of January, 2018.

The idea is that the odour that the bracelet produces will repel the attacker and alarm others. Roel also said that: “People are programmed in such a way that they are disgusted by foul smell, and they have the urge to go away when they are disgusted.”

Currently the social entrepreneur Roel van der Kamp, along with Prince Constantijn van Oranje and 50+ Dutch startups, is at the International CES fair in Las Vegas to showcase Dutch innovations to the world.

Roel with his startup is based on the ECE Campus in the Rotterdam Science Tower.
