Yesterday the ECE campus was buzzing with entrepreneurial spirit. Following a morning of mingling with fellow entrepreneurs and a special Day@theCampus lunch, participants had an inspiring crowdfunding workshop: the ‘Symbid Kickoff’. During the workshop, the team behind the successful Symbid start-up shared their experiences and inside knowledge on how crowdfunding works. Four types of crowdfunding were discussed, with special focus on equity crowdfunding. Symbid emphasized that when it comes to equity crowdfunding, “You can have a good idea, but in the end it is all about believing in the entrepreneur.” Keeping your crowd informed, creating a strong video pitch and having a good network of friends and family to help build momentum in the first steps are all vital for a successful (equity-based) crowdfunding campaign!

Throughout the day participants also took the opportunity to receive personal advice and coaching from BDO consultants.
