The Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship ambassadors are essential to our organisation. We are therefore proud to welcome Erasmus alumna Nilab Yonousi in our entrepreneurial community and we look forward to work together in stimulating inclusive entrepreneurship across youngsters, professionals and entrepreneurs in the Netherlands and abroad.

Nilab is a role-model and inspirator for thousands of youngsters, professionals and entrepreneurs in the field of entrepreneurship, social impact and promotion of cultural diversity & inclusion. Beside this, Nilab is also labelled as a motivational speaker and concept developer. She is active on social media and has a huge number of views on her posts, with a peak of 1.9M. She has a very strong network in business, politics, sports, education, entertainment and NGOs in both the Netherlands and Afghanistan, Pakistan and India.

Her knowledge, experience and motivation to stimulate entrepreneurship among students and (young) entrepreneurs are in line with our vision and way of thinking. We are therefore proud to welcome her to our community as Erasmus Alumna and ambassador of our organization. Nilab: ‘We should not wait for opportunities, but create them ourselves!’

Nilab’s journey
At the age of five, Nilab had to flee abroad because of a war in her home country Afghanistan. After having lived with her family in Pakistan, Iran and Bulgaria she came to the Netherlands in 2001 as a child refugee. With hard work and perseverance, she managed to move up to the pre-university education where she passed her final exams.

During her study of Business Administration at Erasmus University she moved to India for over a year to work in marketing at a big Indian cosmetics company. In addition to her work, she is currently also doing a master study in Digital Business and Innovation at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. This study fits in nicely with her passions for entrepreneurship, innovation, digitalization and international business.

Social Entrepreneur
Nilab also translates her passion for entrepreneurship into her own international consultancy company. She and her team give advice on how to establish and maintain business contacts between Dutch companies and companies from Afghanistan, Pakistan, India and Bulgaria in order to realize successful business relationships. From a social impact perspective, she invests part of her turnover in social projects in the field of education, care and youth in Afghanistan.

Role as ambassador
As a new ambassador of our organization, Nilab will represent Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship in stimulating inclusive entrepreneurship by encouraging and inspiring potential entrepreneurs. In doing so, Nilab will act as a motivational guest speaker to inspire and teach students from the Erasmus University in starting their own business. She will also be a coach of our Erasmus Startup Program to inspire first-time startup entrepreneurs to turn their idea into a scalable business. Besides that, Nilab will represent us as jury member at the Young Lady Business Academy and other programs and events.
