New Business Meets Science at the ECE Campus
Business and Science are not separate worlds! On April 15th full blown academics fruitfully connected with entrepreneurs at the ECE Campus at the Rotterdam Science Tower event ‘Business meets Science’.
Standing in front of a curious audience, ECE Professor Corporate Entrepreneurship Justin Jansen explained how our fast changing world forces corporates to innovate in order to survive. Jansen – part of the Thomson Reuters top 200 of most influential minds – stressed that corporates should adopt entrepreneurship in their DNA. As academic research shows, entrepreneurship is absolutely essential for corporate innovation.
But Jansen was not the only one sharing knowledge and expertise with the public. Hans Schikan, former CEO of Prosensa – sold for $840 million to the American company BioMarin- talked about his experiences with entrepreneurship in the biotech world. Jan van Kranendonk showed how to excel both academically and business wise. Having started three companies of which one raised an investment of EUR 400.000,- while succesfully graduating with a 10/10 from the TU Delft, van Krandenkonk set an inspiring example for those who love to combine research and business.
