Pitch Night!
What an event! Five promising startups pitched their ideas to a receptive crowd. This event was hosted by ECE and our active ECE community member Symbid. Among the startups were startups from the ECE Get Started programme as well as from the Symbid platform. As Robin Slakhorst stated in the opening speech: when it comes to success – it all starts with a pitch.
With a countdown clock steadily ticking away the seconds, each speaker was given 3 minutes to pitch followed by 7 minutes of interactive Q&A with the crowd.
First up was Clocktimizer, passionately developing business intelligence software for law firms. This idea was inspired by personal experience at a law firm and -believe it or not- a course much beloved by other Erasmus University students: statistics. The ultimate goal of Clocktimizer is it to make the legal market more transparent.
Next came Libersy, with an innovative cloud-based solution to help small business owners (think: hairdressers, doctors, dentists) get the most of out of their appointments. They do this by sending reminders to the customers/patients.
Then Be.e presented their bio-based electric scooter. Since it is largely made of hemp fibres, it has a lower environmental impact during the production phase and it also has improved sustainability compared to vehicles with gaspowered engines.
The floor then opened for Chefplaza to explain how they offer services and software for chefs and people looking for personalized catering. Chefplaza helps connect verified top chefs to people looking for chefs.
Last but not least, Elqava gave a pitch about their subscription service for coffee. Through an intricate platform, they connect farmers to customers and offer premium hand-picked coffee – each month a surprise pack of three distinct varieties – to be delivered right in your mailbox. And no worries about the quality, Elqava has a team of expert tasters to ensure the quality of each new coffee roast.
Excited about these pitches? The next Pitch Night will be on July 7th (keep your eye on our Events) – we hope to see you then!
