RSC Entrepreneurs Circle

7 May 2015

Rotterdam’s student associations are doing a good job when it comes to encouraging entrepreneurship and supporting entrepreneurs in Rotterdam! Last night the Rotterdam Business Circle, which is a committee of the Rotterdam Student Corps (RSC), hosted a special entrepreneurship event “RoSOP” at the ECE Campus. Through the event they want to involve other student associations in the process of supporting entrepreneurs and put entrepreneurship in Rotterdam on the map. They work closely together with the committee of the Philips Innovation Award, which is sponsored by ECE.

At the event all entrepreneurs who are currently members of a student association were given a table where they could present their idea. The evening began with a reception where visitors could view the presentations. Next, the judges – who were graduate students from various student associations with a company- arrived and evaluated the ideas. They chose one entrepreneur from each association to pitch for the visitors. Then each jury member gave a small presentation about themselves, and afterwards the selected startups held a short pitch during the pitch battle. The jury then decided in which enterprise they would like to invest 100 euros, and Grader was named as the ultimate winner.

If you are interested in starting your own enterprise, you should check out the Get Started programme. If you are an existing company that is ready for some innovation, you might be a perfect candidate for the New Business Cycle. And if you want to host your own event here, find more info on the ECE Campus page and contact us!
