SHE LEADS is an initiative by the Erasmus Enterprise community that encourages female entrepreneurship and leadership by uncovering relevant research insights as well as by celebrating female leaders and entrepreneurs through our events.

This year, we celebrate female frontrunners through our second SHE LEADS annual event at Erasmus Enterprise on November 10th , where we will bring together changemakers striving to make a positive impact through diversity and entrepreneurship.

In 2022, we expand SHE LEADS to include SHE LEADS in Tech at YES!Delft on November 17th, where you will connect with female tech heroes creating a positive societal impact on health and climate-tech. Join us for two inspiring afternoons celebrating female entrepreneurs and leaders of today and tomorrow!

SHE LEADS annual event schedule (November 10th)

13:15 - 13:30 Opening words

Doors open from 13:00. The programme starts with a word of welcome from our main partners at 13:15.

13:30 - 14:15 Female frontrunners panel (Erasmus Centre for Women and Organisations)

The Erasmus Centre for Women and Organisations (ECWO) hosts this opening roundtable discussion with guests from research and entrepreneurship backgrounds, reflecting on the diverse experiences of female entrepreneurs. Female frontrunners Alexandra Jankovich (founder SparkOptimus) and Sara Okhuijsen (Co-Founder & CSO OASYS NOW) will share their perspectives on how they have become innovators in their respective fields, while Katty Hsu (senior researcher Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship) will bring in academic insights into the discussion facilitated by ECWO’s Executive Director, Prof. Hanneke Takkenberg.

14:15 – 15:15 Session 1.1: Female talent in tech panel (YES!Delft)

YES!Delft, Europe’s leading tech incubator, hosts a roundtable discussion with successful female change makers who are shaping the future of health tech, climate tech and science-based deep tech. Offering a sneak peek into next week’s event SHELeads in Tech, with an exciting lineup of female tech heroes at the YES!Delft Incubator in Delft.

For who?

Anyone with an interest in (female) entrepreneurship & future-shaping technologies, such as AI and Robotics

14:15 – 15:15 Session 1.2: From academia to business @ EUR (ERBS)

How do you find your way in the entrepreneurial support system of the university? What can the university do for you, as an (aspiring) academic entrepreneur?  

In this session hosted by Erasmus Research & Business Support (ERBS), we will share tools and tips for entrepreneurial staff that want to know how the university can help them in their entrepreneurial journey. With examples from two inspiring female CEOs of successful academic startups, you will get to know more about what the university can do for you! 

 

For who? 

University staff: researchers, teachers, (project) managers 

15:30 – 16:30 Session 2.1: Speed dating (Erasmus Trust Fund)

Do you wonder what it takes to become an entrepreneurial leader? During the speed dating sessions, aspiring female entrepreneurs will be given the opportunity to learn from experienced female entrepreneurial leaders. In 2 rounds with a group of 2-3 students and 2 female entrepreneurs, you will gain valuable advice and inspiration from women entrepreneurs and/or leaders.  

For who? 

Students and aspiring female entrepreneurs on one side of the table; experienced female entrepreneurs and leaders on the other!

Please note that you will have to answer a separate questionnaire (which you will receive via mail) to be selected for this session, both as an entrepreneurial leader and as a student. 

The speed dating spots for students and entrepreneurs are unfortunately full.

15:30 – 16:30 Session 2.2: Break down barriers (O2LAB)

Female entrepreneurs and leaders constantly face barriers on their way to success. What are those barriers and how can we break them down? With O2LAB as our host, the audience will be asked to identify the challenges women face in entrepreneurship. Afterward, you will be split into smaller break-out groups and explore these predefined challenges together with peers and successful female entrepreneurs. Last but not least, each group will identify smart solutions that break down barriers for women in entrepreneurship. 

For who? 

Students and staff with a business idea, startup founders, and anyone who experiences challenges on the way to  entrepreneurship

16:40 – 17:10 SHE LEADS keynote

We are proud to announce Beth Mass as our keynote speaker. She is the founder and CEO of Ozarka, a With a zero-waste mission, Beth is an exponent of sustainable entrepreneurship.

Join us to hear about her entrepreneurial journey and interesting insights into female leadership.

17:15 - 19:00 Closing remarks & networking drinks

After some final words from our main partners, we close off the day with networking drinks where you can connect with fellow (aspiring) female entrepreneurs and changemakers!
