Our ECE Community member and Get Started alumni Whever has launched their app! Whever solves the problem of people arriving late at a meeting. By using gamification, the app turns meeting up into a fun competition with the people you’re meeting up with.

The app uses several tools to get you there on time. Whever informs you when it’s time to leave, taking into account current traffic and past behavior, and shows you when the others will be there. To motivate you to be on time, Whever even allows you to select a fun penalty for being late or a reward for being on time.

The team attended the LAUNCH startup festival in San Francisco in March where they managed to be selected out of two hundred startups showing their product at the festival to pitch in front of a live audience of 1000+ techies including Silicon Valley based investors and international press. LAUNCH is one of the world’s biggest startup festivals and well-known companies such as Dropbox, Yammer and Hipmunk have launched at LAUNCH in previous years.

The Whever team has been working on the app since August 2014 and participated in the ECE Get Started programme.

Whever received an undisclosed amount of seed funding from the Silicon Valley based All Mobile Fund. It launched its iOS app on Wednesday May 27th in the App store.
